Lithuanian pianist Simonas Poška is among the leading young pianists of his generation in Lithuania. In 2023, he won Second Prize at the M. K. Čiurlionis International Piano Competition, Lithuania‘s most prestigious piano competition, and received the Special Prize as the highest-ranked Lithuanian competitor.

In 2024, Simonas performed Liszt’s Totentanz in Paris with the French Republican Guard Symphony Orchestra where presidents Emmanuel Macron and Gitanas Nausėda were both in attendance. The artist has also appeared as a soloist with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, Kaunas Symphony Orchestra, Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, University of Vytautas the Great Chamber Orchestra, St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra and the New Europe Chamber Orchestra.

Born in Vilnius, Lithuania, in 2001, Simonas Poška studied at the M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts with Eglė Jurkevičiūtė-Navickienė before graduating from the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media, where he studied with Professor Roland Krüger. Since 2018, Simonas has been mentored by prof. Mūza Rubackytė. In September 2026, he is continuing his artistic education at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP) in the piano class of Professor Denis Pascal.

Poška’s artistic achievements have been recognized with awards and scholarships. In 2018, he was honoured by the President of Lithuania, Dalia Grybauskaitė, for his success in international piano competitions. He received the Little St. Christopher Award from the City of Vilnius in 2019, was a scholarship recipient of the Mstislav Rostropovich Charity and Support Foundation from 2018 to 2020, and has been supported by the Live Music Now Hannover Foundation since 2022.

Alongside his career as a pianist, Poška is active as a composer, actor, and stage director. In 2024, he premiered his 50-minute piano cycle Theatre Suite in Vilnius. His previous theatrical work includes directing the opera Devil’s Bride (2020) and writing, directing, and acting in the play Overture for the Theater (2021), featuring his own music. In 2024, he appeared as Franz Liszt in the chamber ballet Wanderer (directed by Eleni Ioannidou) and portrayed Johannes Brahms in the theatre production Love Song (directed by Jūratė Vansk). He has also appeared in the film Our Father (directed by Marius Ivaškevičius) and has worked extensively as a voice actor in animated films, including voicing Nemo in the Lithuanian version of Finding Nemo. In addition, he hosts a radio programme on Vilnius FM, where he interviews leading figures from Lithuania’s classical music scene.
