In 2023, Simonas Poška won the second prize in the M. K. Čiurlionis Piano Competition – the largest piano competition in Lithuania – and was awarded a special prize for the highest placement among all Lithuanians. In March 2024, Simonas performed Liszt’s Totentanz in Paris with the French Republican Guard Symphony Orchestra where presidents Emmanuel Macron and Gitanas Nausėda were both in attendance. The artist has also appeared as a soloist with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, Kaunas Symphony Orchestra, Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, University of Vytautas the Great Chamber Orchestra, St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra and the New Europe Chamber Orchestra.

In 2018, Simonas Poška was awarded by the President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė for proclaiming the name of Lithuania in the international competitions. In 2019, the Vilnius City Council awarded the young pianist the Little Saint Christopher Prize for his musical achievements in 2018. From 2018 to 2020, he was supported by the M. Rostropovich foundation “Support for Lithuanian Children”. Since 2022, Simonas has been a scholarship holder of the foundation “Live Music Now Hannover”.

Simonas Poška was born in Vilnius, Lithuania in 2001. In 2008, he began studying at the M. K. Čiurlionis Art School under Eglė Jurkevičiūtė-Navickienė. Since 2018, Simonas is mentored by prof. Mūza Rubackytė. Since autumn 2020, he has been studying piano at the Hanover University of Music, Theater and Media with prof. Roland Krüger.

Even though the main focus of Simonas is piano performance, he is also active in the fields of theater and composition. In January 2024, he gave a recital in Vilnius featuring solely his own music – a 50-minute-long cycle “Theater Suite” (2021-2023). In 2020, Simonas directed an opera “The Devil’s Bride” by Vyacheslav Ganelin. A year later, he wrote and directed a drama “Overture for the Theater” (2020-2021), where he played the lead role and performed his own music. 2024 featured a main role in a modern chamber ballet “Der Wanderer” (dir. Eleni Ioannidou). Simonas has also appeared in a film “Our Father” (dir. Marius Ivaškevičius), countless TV commercials, voiced 10 main characters in animated movies (including Nemo in “Finding Nemo”).
